The Ministry of Finance held the 9th meeting of the Moldova-European Union Association Subcommittee

According to the Ministry, the event took place within the framework of the Association Agreement under thematic cluster I “Economic Dialogue, Public Financial Management, Statistics, Financial Sector Reform, Control and Anti-Fraud Provisions,” organized in cooperation with the Project Preparation Facility and with the support of the European Union Delegation. The event was co-chaired by Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance Ana Luca and Milan Lisicky, representative of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs (DG ECFIN). It was attended by representatives of Moldovan state institutions and the European Commission. Opening the meeting, Finance Minister Victoria Belous emphasized the importance of sectoral cooperation between Moldova and the European Union, highlighting the progress achieved in the effective use of external funds and in the implementation of public finance reforms. She also noted the significant role of assistance provided under the Economic Growth Plan for Moldova in supporting sustainable development and the European integration process. The dialogue focused on key topics such as the macroeconomic situation, fiscal and structural policies, the labor market, public investment, the financial sector, national statistics, and measures to prevent fraud. Participants presented progress made in structural reforms, namely the promotion of foreign direct investment, the reform of state-owned enterprises and the labor market, financial sector reforms, the Macroprudential Policy Strategy, the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing, and the harmonization of national statistics with European standards. In conclusion, Ana Luсa thanked all participants for their contributions and active participation, emphasizing Moldova's commitment to continuing the implementation of reforms and compliance with EU standards. As noted, the Ministry of Finance reaffirms its commitment to promoting structural reforms and sound financial management in close cooperation with European partners within the framework of Moldova's European integration process. Continuous dialogue with European institutions remains important for achieving development and accession goals.
