
The U.S. Treasury will assist the Moldovan Ministry of Finance in developing budgetary oversight
The Moldovan Finance Ministry reported this, noting that Moldovan Finance Minister Victoria Belous and her team met with experts from the U.S. Treasury Department's Technical Assistance Office. The discussions were focused on the support offered by the U.S. Treasury in the development of the budgetary supervision direction, as well as on the new task of the State Financial Control Inspectorate, subordinated to the Finance Ministry. Victoria Belous emphasized the importance of the technical and advisory assistance provided by the U.S. experts, in particular to finalize the methodology needed to implement this function and ensure an efficient process in the long term. “We are grateful for the long-standing cooperation and professionalism of the U.S. Treasury Department experts. The support provided is essential for strengthening the management of public finances and achieving our development goals,” said Victoria Belous.
