Moldova is creating a system for the rapid exchange of information on dangerous products
The government approved the relevant regulation at a meeting on January 15. The system will allow for the rapid identification of any dangerous or potentially dangerous non-food product and the immediate notification of citizens. This information will come either from market surveillance authorities identifying such products or from economic operators who want to prevent any danger that may affect the life and health of consumers. The new system will be organized similarly to the RAPEX system, which currently protects millions of consumers in EU countries. The development of such a system is a concrete step towards European integration and will help the Moldovan authorities prepare for the effective use of the RAPEX system when Moldova becomes an EU member or gains direct access to it, as decided by the European Commission. It is worth noting that the development of the system does not require additional funding from the budget. However, expenses will be required to train inspectors and operators to work with the new information system. The Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization plans to receive TAIEX assistance for this.// 15.01.2025 – InfoMarket.
