Another service has been digitized in Moldova: the document on border crossing

The Public Services Agency (ASP) announced this, noting that citizens can get access to a new electronic service - Issuance of an extract from the integrated information system of the Border Police on crossing the state border of Moldova, developed by the e-Governance Agency in cooperation with the General Inspectorate of Border Police. According to ASP, the digitization of this public service is an important step in modernizing and increasing the efficiency of the administrative activity and gives citizens the possibility to obtain an online statement on the crossing of the state border of Moldova. The implementation of the new electronic service ensures a quick receipt of the requested document and significantly reduces the waiting time, thus facilitating access to public services. Extracts from the unified information system of the Border Police on the crossing of the state border can be requested by both individuals and legal entities with or without digital authentication. To request an extract, it is enough to make just a few steps online: access the Public Services Portal at https://servicii.gov.md; select the service “Extract from the unified information system of the Border Police” https://servicii.gov.md/ro/service/021001121 and activate the “Request” button. After activation of the button there will be an automatic redirection to the application page available at https://eservicii.gov.md/mai/igpf/cerere. There it is necessary to fill in the fields with the necessary information and follow the relevant instructions. The document can be obtained in two ways: those who have an electronic signature can receive the statement in digital format through the mcabinet.gov.md portal; applicants who do not have a valid electronic signature can receive the document on paper at the General Inspectorate of Border Police’s office in Chisinau municipality, as well as at the regional General Inspectorate of Border Police’s offices located in Edinet, Cahul, Stefan-Voda and Ungheni. Before the digitization of the service and issuance of extracts from the unified information system of the Border Police, the application had to be signed holographically and submitted personally by the applicant exclusively to the General Inspectorate of Border Police in Chisinau. The document was issued only on paper, personally to the applicant (on the basis of an identity document) or to his/her representative (upon presentation of the original of a duly authorized power of attorney). Previously, the mentioned service could not be paid online via MPay, but only in a bank. Thanks to the digitization of this service, the costs of applicants have been reduced, as payment through mpay.gov.md does not incur additional costs or commissions for the beneficiary. The process of issuing a statement from the unified information system of the Border Police was digitized within the framework of the project “Modernization of Government Services”, implemented by the e-Governance Agency with the financial support of the World Bank Group. It is designed to make the activity of the General Inspectorate of Border Police more efficient by optimizing the bureaucratic processes used in reviewing applications and issuing extracts. According to statistical data, for 6 months of the current year more than 2200 applications for issuance of extracts on crossing the state border by individuals and vehicles have been considered. // 30.09.2024 - InfoMarket.
