
Government approved the draft of the new Law on Personal Data Protection, which complies with the EU norms.
All provisions of the new document are harmonized with the relevant European legislation. The main goal of the law is to ensure a high level of protection of personal data processing. The law also regulates the organization and operation of the National Center for Personal Data Protection (CNPDCP), which will monitor the implementation of the legislation. The new law establishes penalties for violations of the relevant legislation. Any person who considers that his/her right to personal data protection has been violated may file a complaint with the CNPDCP within 1 year from the date of violation.
