Population and housing census in 2024 will start on April 8 and will last for 3 months.

The corresponding draft decision was approved by the Moldovan government. The census will be financed with 244 million 329.9 thousand lei from the budget allocated for 2024 for the National Bureau of Statistics. The census will be held from April 8 to July 7. Data will be collected in two ways: directly - by census (survey) of relevant persons; indirectly - from administrative and/or private data sources. The information obtained during the census will be used for: calculation of the resident population of Moldova on the census reference date; annual post-census estimates with a detailed breakdown by territorial profiles: districts/municipalities, cities, communes; calculation of census indicators with a territorial breakdown; creation of a survey base for statistical household surveys, etc. // 31.01.2024 - InfoMarket
