Dumitru Pintia will leave the post of Director of the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA) as of January 1, 2024.

He has written his resignation on his own initiative. Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Dumitru Alaiba expressed gratitude to Dumitru Pintea for his efforts as ODA Director and wished him great success in continuing his professional activity. He noted that a contest to select the new ODA director will be announced soon, promising that the process will be transparent and with equal opportunities for all those interested in contributing to the further development of entrepreneurship in our country. According to the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, Dumitru Pintia made a significant contribution to the implementation and consolidation of initiatives aimed at supporting entrepreneurship and innovation in Moldova. During his leadership, the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development underwent a series of complex structural changes. The ODA reform led to major changes in the tools to support entrepreneurs, in the way financial resources are allocated and in the decision-making mechanism. These changes have attracted the attention and support of many external partners. During 2 years of operation, ODA revised all entrepreneurship support programs, launched new programs and expanded the group of eligible beneficiaries. New grant programs have been launched to support businesses throughout the entire period of their operations - from start-up to internationalization. The implementation mechanism of grant programs was improved to prevent risks of non-implementation of investment projects. As regards access to financing, ODA strengthened the structure of the Credit Guarantee Fund and launched the Fund for Entrepreneurship and Economic Growth of Moldova (FACEM). Within six months, about 200 entrepreneurs received loans under the 373 program for a total amount of about 500 million lei. Over the last 2 years, ODA has implemented such programs in optimal terms to compensate the expenses of patent holders transitioning to independent activity, expenses of units training specialists in dual education, and interest rates on investment loans. The volume of financial resources administered by ODA increased more than 4 times - up to 1.1 billion lei. ODA programs have direct financial support from many external partners, especially the European Union, the German government, the US government and the World Bank. The post of ODA Director will be temporarily held by Gheorghe Iudin until the completion of the tender procedure for this key position. // 29.12.2023 – InfoMarket
