Moldova will allow transferring criminally obtained property to the state and using it to compensate for the damage caused to the state.
The government announced this, noting that the Commission for Emergency Situations adopted this decision at its last meeting, updating the precautionary measures against the activity of individuals and legal entities included in the U.S. sanctions list for persistent malicious influence campaigns and corrupt practices. In particular, the prohibition on the transfer of sanctioned assets to a state authority, state agency or an enterprise with predominant state capital, as well as on the registration of such transfer of rights was eliminated. At the same time, the administration and use of criminally obtained assets for the purpose of compensation for damage caused to the state, a state authority/institution or an enterprise with predominant state capital will be allowed. // 03.10.2023 - InfoMarket.
