The Romanian government approved the ratification of agreements with Moldova on the repair and modernization of 3 road bridges across the Prut.

It's about the repair of road bridges across the Prut between the settlements of Sculeni-Sculeni, Leuseni-Albita and Cahul-Oancea, which were built in 1958-1964 and are currently in a deplorable state. “These bridges will take trade relations between Moldova and Romania to a much higher level,” Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said during a cabinet meeting in Bucharest. As InfoMarket previously reported, intergovernmental agreements on the repair and modernization of 3 bridges across the Prut were signed on May 9, 2023 in Chisinau. According to the agreements, the modernization and maintenance of 3 cross-border bridges will be financed by the Romanian government. On the part of Moldova, financial support will only affect the construction of access roads to bridges. All work is planned to be completed by the end of 2027. The modernization of the bridges will simplify traffic between the two states, facilitate trade in the domestic and international markets, and will also provide concrete benefits for increasing our country’s connections between the countries of the European Union and Eastern Europe. // 14.09.2023 — InfoMarket.
