Moldova has made progress in a number of areas, but it still has a lot of work to do on its way to full membership in the European Union - MFAEI.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MFAEI) Nicu Popescu said this in a message on the occasion of the anniversary of Moldova's candidate status for EU membership. "We have had a year full of remarkable achievements and progress. The EU's first verbal report on Moldova's progress is positive. Our country has made significant progress in the process of de-oligarization, strengthening justice and developing administrative capacity. The EU has supported us and continues to support us in maintaining peace and stability in our country. Together we managed to launch the Partnership Mission with the EU and to impose sanctions against those who try to destabilize our country. Together we overcame the winter and the energy crisis, ensuring warmth and light in our homes," the head of the MFAEI said. According to him, this historic chance has opened new horizons for our country. "This year we have made tireless efforts to implement important reforms in various key areas. We focused on strengthening democratic values, promoting transparency and the rule of law, and sustainable economic and social development. Each step forward was accompanied by the strong support and commitment of our partners in the European Union. However, we are well aware that the road to full membership in the European Union is still full of challenges, and we realize that we still have a long way to go to meet the strict criteria and standards set by the EU. That is why it is so important that we continue our reform efforts, strengthen our institutions and fully engage in the process of modernization and alignment with European values. Accession to the EU is the surest way to ensure peace, stability and freedom of our country," the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova stressed. //23.06.2023 - InfoMarket.
