Moldovan Government approves the National Program for Strengthening and Implementing Measures to Protect Critical Infrastructure Facilities for 2022-2026 and the Implementation Plan for it.

The new measures are introduced as a result of regional developments and increased threats to national security. It is noted that even if at present Moldova does not face a serious terrorist risk and is not directly targeted by terrorist organizations, there is a need to strengthen the national capacity to combat terrorist manifestations, especially in conditions of regional instability. The implementation of the program will be ensured by the Anti-Terrorism Center of the Moldovan Information and Security Service, as well as by ministries, other authorities or state institutions and legal entities that manage facilities included in the National Nomenclature of Critical Infrastructure. The program will be implemented at the expense and within the approved budgets, without the need for additional funding. Critical infrastructure facilities are vital facilities, such as those in the defense, government, information and communication technology, infrastructure, energy, and social sectors. Their disruption or destruction could pose a danger to people and the environment, with a negative impact on the security, social and economic well-being of the state. //27.10.2022 - InfoMarket
