Moldova is interested in liberalizing the export of its agricultural products to the UK.

This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Nicu Popescu, at a press conference on Tuesday, following a meeting with the British Minister for European Affairs, Leo Docherty, who is in Chisinau on a working visit. Nicu Popescu said that the current situation in the region, the deepening of the Moldovan-British dialogue, the strengthening of security and the expansion of trade and economic cooperation in various fields were discussed with the British minister. He also stated that Moldova is interested in expanding the presence of local agricultural products in international markets, and the meeting discussed the liberalization of the export of Moldovan fruits and vegetables to the UK market. The Moldovan minister noted that the parties expressed interest in developing cooperation in various sectors: the ICT sector, the automotive industry, the electrical industry, tourism, and fintech. The parties discussed measures to improve the living conditions of the Moldovan diaspora in the UK, as well as important issues in the field of social protection, recognition of diplomas and academic titles, certificates and renewal of driver's licenses. One of the topics of discussion was cooperation between legal institutions to fight corruption and reform the justice system.
