In Moldova, a State Register of Topographic and Geodetic Works will be created and policies in the field of national spatial data infrastructure will be improved.
In particular, this is provided for by the relevant amendments to the Law on National Spatial Data Infrastructure and the Law on Geodesy, Cartography and Geoinformatics, which the Parliament adopted in the second reading. The purpose of the changes is to increase the effectiveness of policies in the field of national spatial data infrastructure and improve the legislative framework in this area. The adopted bill provides for the obligation of the central authority in the field of national spatial data infrastructure to annually submit to the government a report on the creation and development of the national infrastructure in this area. Also, government agencies will be required to approve the conditions for the use of spatial data by national services. Another provision concerns the creation of the State Register of Topographic and Geodetic Works, which will register topographic and geodetic works performed by individuals and legal entities. Registration will be carried out through the information system by local public authorities. In case of impossibility, this right will be transferred to the administrative body responsible for implementing the policy in the field of geodesy, cartography and geoinformatics. The same body will be responsible for maintaining the State Register of Topographic and Geodetic Works. Access of individuals and legal entities to the spatial data of the State Register of Topographic and Geodetic Works will be provided through network services in accordance with the provisions of the law on the national spatial data infrastructure. The law will be supplemented with the concept of "network service", which will be understood as a service designed to ensure the interaction of computers (applications) with each other, based on a set of standard protocols for each type of network service. The regulation on the procedure for maintaining the State Register of Topographic and Geodetic Works, including the mechanism for registering and issuing information from the register, will be approved by the government.// // 17.02.2022 — InfoMarket
