Slovenia is ready to deepen economic cooperation with Moldova and together with other EU countries to promote the course of reforms and European integration of our country.

This was stated by the President of Slovenia Borut Pahor during a joint press conference with the head of the Moldovan state Maia Sandu, recalling that Slovenia is currently presiding over the EU Council. He noted the readiness to support the efforts of the Moldovan authorities to improve the quality of life of Moldovan citizens, strengthen democratic values in society, solve problems with neighbors and obtain European prospects for the country. Borut Pahor stressed that, as the experience of Slovenia shows, problems cannot be solved overnight, but expressed confidence that the persistence of the authorities will help them realize their plans, adopt and implement the necessary laws, and effectively fight corruption. According to him, at the Eastern Partnership summit in mid-December in Brussels, Slovenia, as the President of the EU Council, will advocate accelerating the EU enlargement process at the expense of the Western Balkans, as well as providing clearer European perspectives to the EaP countries, which is important for ensuring peace and stability within the EU and neighboring countries. // 01.10.2021 — InfoMarket
