
The IMF mission plans to arrive in Chisinau in late September to discuss with the Moldovan authorities a new Memorandum and a program of economic reforms.
This was stated during the meeting that Finance Minister Dumitru Budianschi had with the IMF Resident Representative in Moldova Rogers Chawani. The main topics raised during the discussions were the ministry's medium-term budgetary priorities, namely, government restructuring and reallocation of expenditures in this regard, adjustments to the state budget for 2021 and the development of a draft law on the state budget for 2022, which should be approved by early December this year. The parties also discussed the resumption of dialogue on a new Memorandum of Politics between the IMF and the Republic of Moldova, which may be completed this fall.
