
Cultural and solemn events will take place throughout the country on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Moldova's independence.
The main events will be organized downtown Chisinau. According to the government, the celebration will begin at 8:30 am with the laying of flowers at the "Grieving Mother" memorial and the Stefan cel Mare monument. The opening ceremony of the Sovereign Moldova holiday will begin at 10:00, followed by congratulatory speeches by President Maia Sandu, Speaker of Parliament Igor Grosu and Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita. Romanian President Klaus Iohannis, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Polish President Andrzej Duda, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps, development partners, government agencies, etc. will take part in the celebrations on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Moldova's independence. At 10:25 am, a military parade will take place on the Great National Assembly Square, after which the program of the holiday will continue with a concert with the participation of artists and creative teams from Moldova. After lunch, Cinepark will be organized - a screening of a documentary film about the independence of Moldova and a short film aimed at promoting the image of Moldova. The event will end with a festive concert. Cultural and patriotic events will also be held in all settlements of the country. On the occasion of Independence Day, at the initiative of the Moldovan Metropolitanate, on August 27, all Orthodox churches of the country will ring the bells simultaneously for 10 minutes, starting at 11:00. It is worth noting that all events will be organized in accordance with the instructions elaborated by the National Public Health Emergency Commission. Only vaccinated military personnel will participate in the parade, and guests and participants of the events will keep the social distance and wear masks.
