The EU is ready to provide Moldova with 21.4 million euros from the program to support police reform, as well as sign a contract for a new grant in the amount of 15 million euros to improve resilience.

This was stated by the head of the EU Delegation to Moldova Peter Michalko at a meeting with the Acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi, stressing that the said EU financial assistance is intended to increase the response capacity in the context of a pandemic situation. The parties also noted the importance of reforming the judicial system and creating strong institutions, discussed priority issues for enhancing cooperation between Moldova and the EU, as well as other topics related to long-term multilateral cooperation, including on the Eastern Partnership platform. During the meeting, the Acting Prime Minister assured that the current government will do everything possible, in accordance with its legal authority, to continue to implement the actions provided for in the Association Agreement with the EU and the Agreement on a Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area with the European Union. The parties stressed the importance of providing Moldovan citizens with a vaccine against COVID-19 as soon as possible.
