
Moldova and Ukraine intend to expand cooperation in the energy sector to enhance energy security in the region, introduce new infrastructure projects, facilitate transit and transportation, and develop tourism.
This is stated in a joint statement by the presidents of the two countries, Maia Sandu and Volodymyr Zelensky, which they signed following the talks in Kiev. In the document, the parties called it important to improve the reliability and diversify the supply of electricity and energy carriers, as well as to ensure greater transparency in the energy sector. The presidents confirmed their intention to give a new impetus to the work of the joint intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation and other bilateral cooperation mechanisms. They also noted that Moldova and Ukraine are ready to make every effort to find mutually acceptable ways to solve problematic issues that have remained unresolved for a long time.
