The Constitutional Court of Moldova suspended the law on the repeal of the so-called "Billion Law" adopted by the parliament on December 16, 2020.
This decision was approved by the judges of the Constitutional Court on Tuesday before considering in substance the petition of the MPs from the Pro Moldova group, Adrian Candu and Vladimir Cebotari, who asked to check the constitutionality of this law and believe that the repeal by the Parliament of the Law on the Issue of State Bonds in pursuance of the Ministry of Finance's payment obligations arising from state guarantees No. 807 of November 17, 2014 and No. 101 of April 1, 2015 undermines the economic stability of the state, will have a negative impact on the economic and financial security of the country. According to politicians, the abolition of this law undermines Moldova's relations with the IMF and calls into question the country's future financing prospects, which threatens Moldova’s economic security. // 22.12.2020 - InfoMarket.
