The Constitutional Court of Moldova suspended the entry into force of the amendments to the law on the National Organ on Integrity, adopted by the parliament on December 16 this year.
This decision was made by the Constitutional Court on Monday before the consideration on the merits of the petition approved for consideration by the deputy of the PAS party Sergiu Litvinenco, who challenged the amendments to the law on the National Integrity Body in the Constitutional Court. As InfoMarket reported earlier, the parliament adopted on December 16 this year in two readings at once the amendments to the Law on the National Integrity Authority, according to which in Moldova the period for the control of property and personal interests of officials and deputies is reduced from 3 years to 1 year after the termination or expiration of their term of office. The amendments stipulate that the process of control of property and personal interests by integrity inspectors can be carried out during the period of execution of powers, public or responsible public positions, and for one year after the termination or expiration of their term of office. Until now, this period, provided by law, is 3 years from the date of expiration or termination of powers. According to other approved amendments, the person who is the object of the inspection can appeal the establishing act directly to the court authorized to consider the case in administrative proceedings. In addition, disciplinary action can be taken after a final decision has been made in accordance with the terms of the special laws governing disciplinary liability. // 21.12.2020 — InfoMarket.
