The National Agency for Regulation of Electronic Communications and Information Technologies issued licenses to mobile operators Orange Moldova, Moldcell and Moldtelecom to use radio frequencies/channels in the 2100 MHz range; for each license they will pay 6.2 million euros to the budget.

This was reported by the National Agency for Regulation of Electronic Communications and Information Technologies, noting that, in particular, licenses were issued to them for the purpose of providing terrestrial networks and public services of mobile and fixed cellular communications with the exclusive use of the following frequency subbands: Orange Moldova - frequency subbands 1940-1960/2130-2150 MHz in FDD mode; Moldtelecom - frequency subranges 1960-1980/2150-2170 MHz in FDD mode; Moldcell - frequency subranges 1920-1940/2110-2130 MHz in FDD mode. The issued licenses will be valid for 6 years. The National Agency for Regulation of Electronic Communications and Information Technologies issued the corresponding licenses in accordance with the Radio Frequency Spectrum Management Program for 2021-2025 and minimum values for the cost of reference frequency blocks when put up for a competitive selection procedure. The program provides for the issuance of licenses for the use of radio frequency spectrum in the 2100 MHz band by direct grant to existing license holders with a validity period until November 6, 2029. Suppliers holding relevant licenses are required to comply with the special standard license conditions approved by the National Agency for Regulation of Electronic Communications and Information Technologies decision N31/2014, as amended. Payment for allocated licenses is made by their owners in two parts: before March 31 and until May 31, 2024 to the state budget in the amounts and within the time limits specified in Appendix No. 3 to the said program. The license fee of 6.2 million euros is paid in Moldovan lei at the official rate of the National Bank, established in relation to the euro on the day of payment. // 11.12.2023 — InfoMarket.
