Moldova to launch a mobile application - an analogue of the Ukrainian DIA (Дія) - to provide citizens and entrepreneurs with various public services.
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Dumitru Alaiba announced this, suggesting considering a good name for it. He noted that the Ukrainian super-application called DIA allows you to do a lot of things, interacting with the state, request all kinds of extracts and certificates, submit petitions, and have identity documents (ID card, driving license, etc.) in your phone, all in one place, without having to travel across different platforms. Dumitru Alaiba wrote on his social network page that Moldova is also preparing a super-application that will change the way citizens and entrepreneurs think about the state. "In the 21st century, the state is in the cell phone. From there you can pay taxes, open a business, get a permit, make a donation, and file a petition or a complaint. Teenagers and retirees also use DIA," he said. According to Deputy Prime Minister, Moldovan analogue of the Ukrainian application DIA will contain all identity documents - ID card, driver's license. The project is implemented by e-governance agency with support of USAID Moldova. Dumitru Alaiba said that the first version of the application, which can be presented to users, is a few months away, but it is necessary to come up with a very good name for it. "This is our chance to redefine what the state means to the citizen. Let's bring the state closer to the people. Let's instill more trust, transparency and, importantly, quality of service. Let's reduce the risk of corruption. "Дія" in Ukrainian means "action" and it gives rise to a certain mood and perception. Every time people talk about DIA it sends a clear message about what it means. The name is important. So, we need a name. A name that is short, with no more than two syllables, sonorous, easy to remember, but one that evokes strong positive associations. It can be future, modernization, change, evolution, forward, development, action, plus. We don't need an abstract name. We would be missing an opportunity to say something clear and direct: We are going to completely change the way this state is perceived by its citizens and entrepreneurs. We want to make sure that every time citizens talk about this appendix, calling it by its name, they understand clearly what it means. We have a chance to redefine the state's relationship with citizens and entrepreneurs. And, as a first step, I urge to try to find an appropriate name together with the society", Dumitru Alaiba wrote. According to him, the author of the most successful name will get a surprise prize and, if he/she is interested, will be invited to the advisory council to promote the app. // 20.03.2023 – InfoMarket
