The Moldova-EU Business Forum is scheduled to take place in September to expand trade and promote new economic partnerships

This was discussed during a meeting held in Brussels between Sergiu Harea, President of the Moldovan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), and Marta Kos, European Commissioner for Enlargement, along with the leadership of the European Chamber and representatives of chambers of commerce from candidate countries and potential candidates for EU membership. According to the CCI, the meeting took place in the context of intensifying the dialogue on Moldova's European integration and provided a common platform for presenting the business community's contribution to this process. The President of the CCI of Moldova expressed gratitude for the EU's continued assistance and assessed Marta Kos's official visit to Moldova in early May as a strong signal of support for our country's European path. At the same time, he stressed the importance of the Reform and Growth Plan for Moldova, which provides for financial assistance of €1.9 billion for the development of infrastructure, public administration, education, and social cohesion. The meeting with Marta Kos was attended by Eurochambres President Vladimir Dlouhy, as well as the heads of the chambers of commerce and industry of Turkey, Ukraine, Georgia, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Kosovo. The discussions focused on the challenges and opportunities facing the business community in the EU candidate countries, as well as the need to strengthen public-private dialogue and effective communication on the European integration process. During the meeting, Sergiu Harea reaffirmed the Moldovan business community's support for European integration and highlighted the active role of the CCI of Moldova in supporting economic reforms, harmonizing national legislation with European standards, and supporting SMEs in adapting to the requirements of the European market. Among the examples presented were the participation of the CCI of Moldova in the Enterprise Europe Network and the coordination of the Erasmus program for young entrepreneurs in Moldova. At the same time, the president of the CCI of Moldova proposed the creation of a program for chambers of commerce and industry in candidate countries that would facilitate the exchange of best practices with similar institutions in EU countries, especially those that have recently undergone the accession process. At the end of the meeting, Marta Kos welcomed the proposals and expressed her readiness to support the organization of a Moldova-EU business forum in September 2025 with the aim of strengthening trade relations and promoting new economic partnerships. // 20.05.2025 — InfoMarket
