
Individuals of Moldova will be able to withdraw cash from retail outlets equipped with POS terminals using bank cards, up to a maximum of 1,000 lei per transaction and 100 thousand lei per month
This is provided for by relevant amendments to the current legislation, which have been approved by the government to support the digital economy and electronic services. According to the Cabinet, the approved changes will allow for the development of new electronic services, promote the digital economy, and adapt Moldova to global trends in this area. One of the main provisions of the bill is to allow individuals to withdraw cash from retail outlets with POS terminals using bank cards. The amount must not exceed 1,000 lei per transaction and 100 thousand lei per month. The use of virtual cash registers and the distribution of electronic receipts will also be encouraged. The obligation to print a receipt on paper will be abolished if it is issued in electronic form. At the same time, the activities of single contact centers for digital business services will be facilitated and the range of support services for companies will be expanded. Digital data exchange will be further developed to save time and resources for entrepreneurs. The approved bill also clarifies the legal status of “digital nomads” (people who work remotely) in Moldovan legislation in terms of taxation, migration, labor protection, and health insurance. The mechanism for granting temporary residence permits to foreigners for employment in the information technology sector (IT visa) will be updated. As noted by the government, all approved changes are aimed at supporting the integration of Moldovan producers of digital goods and services into the global market and increasing exports through e-commerce platforms (eComerț). // 29.04.2025 — InfoMarket
