
Moldovan goods exports to Russia decreased by 31.1% - to $92.2 million in January-July 2023, relative to the same period of 2022.
The National Bureau of Statistics informed that, at the same time, supplies of Russian products to Moldova for 7 months in 2023, relative to the same period of the previous year, decreased by 70.8% - to $213.1 million. At the same time, the share of the Russian Federation in the total volume of Moldovan exports decreased over the specified period from 5.09% to 3.93%, and in imports it decreased from 14.26% to 4.25%. Based on the results of January-July 2023, Russia ranked 5th in the list of Moldova’s largest partners in terms of volumes of purchases of Moldovan products (after Romania, Ukraine, Italy and Germany) in value terms. In terms of volumes of product supplies to Moldova, Russia ranked 7th, after Romania, Ukraine, China, Turkey, Germany and Italy. The negative trade balance of Moldova with the Russian Federation in January-July 2023 amounted to $120.9 million, decreasing by 79.7% compared to the same period in 2022.
