
The volume of Moldovan exports to Romania in January-March 2023 amounted to $355.2 million, an increase of 5.4% compared to the same period in 2022.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the share of supplies of domestic goods to Romania in the total volume of Moldovan exports increased from 31.73% to 33.04% over the specified period. However, the volume of imports from Romania for 3 months in 2023, compared to the same period of the previous year, increased by 32.7% - up to $364 million, and its share in total Moldovan imports increased from 13.46% to 15.78%. As a result, the negative balance of trade between Moldova and Romania in January-March 2023 amounted to $8.8 million, while for the same period a year earlier the positive balance amounted to $62.81 million. Romania following the results of 3 months in 2023 was the largest trading partner of Moldova in terms of exports, purchasing the most Moldovan products in the specified period in monetary terms.
