
Exports of Moldovan goods to Russia increased in January-April 2021 by 9.7% - to $85.8 million relative to the same period in 2020.
The National Bureau of Statistics informed that, at the same time, the supply of Russian products to Moldova in the first 4 months of 2021, relative to the same period of the previous year, increased by 16.7% - up to $257.7 million. At the same time, the share of the Russian Federation in the total volume of Moldovan exports increased over the specified period from 9.48% to 9.5% and in imports it decreased from 13.38% to 12.2%. According to the results of January-April 2021, Russia took the 4th place in the list of the largest partners of Moldova in terms of purchases of Moldovan products (after Romania, Germany and Turkey), as well as 2nd place in terms of supply of products to the Republic of Moldova (after Romania). The negative trade balance between Moldova and Russia in the first 4 months of 2021 amounted to $171.9 million, up 20.5% compared to the same period in 2020.
