
Moldovan authorities open a Chisinau Office for the Promotion of Entrepreneurs' Interests.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Moldova and the consulting company Brodsky Uskov Looper Reed & Partners signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, which provides for the creation of a new instrument to support the business environment - the Office for the Promotion of Entrepreneurs' Interests. Within the framework of this Office, specialists from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Brodsky Uskov Looper Reed & Partners will help entrepreneurs develop and promote an agenda for small business development and consolidate the role of the SME sector in promoting legislative initiatives aimed at developing Moldova’s economy. Within the framework of the signed memorandum, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Brodsky Uskov Looper Reed & Partners SRL will inform the competent authorities about the identified shortcomings in the activities of institutions and obstacles to doing business; carry out a comprehensive analysis of the regulatory framework, prepare reports on problems and propose practical ways to solve them; develop recommendations for improving the business climate, etc. The office team has compiled a list of the most pressing problems faced by entrepreneurs. In particular, at the first stage, the office proposes to develop and promote changes in the legal framework in several priority areas: development of a legal framework for regulating and supporting family businesses; raising the legal status of artisans; reducing government regulation in the agricultural sector; public procurement procedure; mechanisms to stimulate innovative entrepreneurship; ensuring access to finance.
