In Moldova, the procedure for paying grants to entrepreneurs by the Organization for Development of Entrepreneurship (ODA) will be simplified.

In Moldova, the procedure for paying grants to entrepreneurs by the Organization for Development of Entrepreneurship (ODA) will be simplified.

This is provided for by the relevant legislative amendments, which were approved by the government at the initiative of the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization. The adjustments being made relate to the provisions of a number of government programs: the Greening Program for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses, the Digital Transformation Program for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses, START for YOUNG PEOPLE: sustainable business at home, the Program for Retechnology and Energy Efficiency of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses, the Program for Attracting Remittances to the Economy “PARE” 1+2”, Program to support digital innovations and technology startups, Regulations on the activities of the Entrepreneurship and Economic Growth Fund of Moldova. The changes involve establishing selection criteria for banks and non-bank credit institutions for FACEM operations. These new rules make a number of important changes. In particular, if entrepreneurs had an active business during the last 12 or 24 months before applying for participation in the program, this proves that their business is working and functional at the time of applying for participation in government programs. Companies, whether they are engaged in all activities within one company or separate companies for different activities, but all of them are classified as small and medium-sized enterprises, will be treated equally under government programs. The list of types of economic activities that can receive financing under the programs will be established in accordance with the Classifier of Activities in the Economy of Moldova. This means that certain businesses will be able to participate in the programs based on their specific company goals. There will no longer be any special requirements for priority areas under the Digital Innovation and Technology Startups Support Program. This will stimulate the development and implementation of innovative ideas in various areas of business. The categories of expenses that can be covered by financing for entrepreneurs will be expanded to suit their needs. The changes made do not affect investment projects submitted to the ODA before the effective date of the current decision of the Cabinet of Ministers. // 26.09.2023 — InfoMarket.
