
The state compensates small and medium-sized enterprises for interest on loans paid in the period from August 1 to December 31, 2022.
This is provided for by the draft Regulation developed by the Ministry of Economy on the procedure for compensating interest on bank and / or non-bank loans received by small and medium-sized enterprises in Moldova before August 1, 2022. The draft is aimed at implementing the order of the Commission for Emergency Situations, according to which 200 million lei will be allocated from the resources of the Enterprise Development Organization to support SMEs and compensate interest on loans. Compensation will be available to SMEs that, as of August 1, had outstanding investment loans received in national currency for a period of at least 2 years. At the same time, can become beneficiaries SMEs from several sectors: agriculture, forestry and fish farming; extractive industry; processing industry; water supply, waste treatment and treatment, restoration work; information and communication; accommodation and catering activities, with the exception of enterprises operating in Chisinau and Balti. The state compensates only interest on loans, other payments are not subject to compensation. Also, this program does not include beneficiaries of loans for the purchase of cars and housing. Compensation will be provided based on the application of a potential beneficiary, its amount will be calculated according to a special formula, with up to 300 thousand lei provided for one recipient. Applications can be submitted until the end of February 2023. Compensations will be paid monthly, including via MPay. This compensation program aims to support SMEs and mitigate shocks from rising interest rates on loans.
