
The Competition Council approved another economic concentration in the market for the production of cereals, legumes and oilseeds.
In particular, the Competition Council approved the economic concentration resulting from the acquisition by the Causeni company Elevator Com Group of 100% of the authorized capital of Basarabia-Agro, registered in the village of Hirbovet, Anenii Noi district. Both companies operate in the same market. The analysis carried out by the CC showed that this economic concentration will not affect the competitive environment. Both companies were registered at the beginning of 2022. The acquiring company is owned by entrepreneur Ion Echim. It is worth noting that last week the CC approved another economic concentration by obtaining control over Gîrleafarms and Valmadol by Agrotera Sud, which also operate in the market of grains, legumes and oilseeds, are engaged in wholesale trade in grains, seeds, raw tobacco. In this transaction, the acquiring company is also owned by the entrepreneur Ion Echim and the companies in which he is the founder. Ion Echim is the ex-director of the National Agency for the Protection of Competition and the husband of the former vice-president of the National Bank Emma Tabirta.
