The term for the import of petroleum products through the Transnistrian region has been extended until June 30, 2022.

The term for the import of petroleum products through the Transnistrian region has been extended until June 30, 2022.

The corresponding resolution was approved by the government at a meeting on Wednesday. In particular, the Cabinet of Ministers amended its previous resolution "On Certain Aspects of the Import of Petroleum Products through the Eastern Border", which extended for another six months the deadline for the import of petroleum products through the Novosavitscaia-Cuciurgan checkpoint established earlier until December 31, 2021. Recall that since August 2016, the Ukrainian authorities have suspended the supply of oil products to the Transnistrian region by rail through the checkpoints "Colbasna-Slobodca" and "Novosavitscaia-Cuciurgan" on the Transnistrian section of the Moldovan-Ukrainian border. The movement of cargo with fuel was redirected through the Ocnita checkpoint, and then the cargo was delivered to the Ribnita and Bender 2 railway stations. After discussions with the Ukrainian authorities and reaching agreements, as well as on the basis of requests from fuel importers, the Cabinet of Ministers of Moldova on November 9, 2016 allowed companies to import petroleum products again through the Transnistrian region, through the “Bender-2” customs post, carrying out customs clearance at the “Novosavitscaia- Cuciurgan ", until an effective joint control mechanism is provided. This decision was made on a temporary basis until December 31, 2016, but subsequently this period was extended every six months, which partially solved the problem of importing oil products into the Transnistrian region. Taking into account that during this period joint control at the mentioned customs post was not carried out, it was proposed to extend the period for the import of oil products through the Transnistrian region until June 30, 2022, indicating that the established procedures will be terminated if, after 6 months joint control will be established at the checkpoint across the state border "Novosavitscaia-Cuciurgan". // 29.12.2021 — InfoMarket
