This is provided for by the amendments made by the parliament to the Law on the Organization and Conduct of Gambling, the Law on Advertising, the Law on Audiovisual Media Services and the Code of Contraventions. The corresponding document was promulgated by President Maia Sandu and published in Monitorul Oficial. According to the law, starting from the new year in Moldova, any form of advertising, direct or indirect, for the promotion and / or stimulation of gambling (including online), betting on sports competitions / events and other activities in the field of gambling is prohibited. The ban applies, among other things, to advertising on radio and television, in print, in film and video services, via the Internet, using telephone and telegraph networks. Outdoor advertising of gambling and advertising inside closed and semi-closed public places, outside and inside points of wholesale and retail trade, in places where services are provided is prohibited; in / on vehicles and by post. At the same time, the use of advertising for the promotion and / or stimulation of gambling in the head office of the entity that has received permission to organize and conduct gambling will be allowed, as an exception, as well as the distribution of advertising materials intended exclusively for distribution to participants in gambling. A company engaged in the organization or conduct of gambling will be prohibited from initiating or participating in sponsorship events or charitable activities, as a result of which the name of an economic entity engaged in organizing or conducting gambling may be exposed, or other information about its connection with this event may be made public. Herewith, amendments were made to the Code of Offenses, according to which violation of the above-mentioned requirements of the legislation on the prohibition of advertising of gambling and the requirements on the prohibition of open sponsorship / charitable activities by organizers of gambling entails the imposition of a fine on individuals in the amount of 60 to 120 uc, on officials persons - from 120 to 180 uc and for legal entities - from 200 to 300 uc with deprivation of the right to engage in certain activities for a period of 6 months to 1 year. // 17.12.2021 — InfoMarket.
