The Chamber of Accounts will conduct a public audit in the field of natural gas for the first time in Moldova.

The Chamber of Accounts will conduct a public audit in the field of natural gas for the first time in Moldova.

This is provided for by the draft law on external public audit in the field of natural gas, which the parliament adopted on Friday in the second reading. The audit will be carried out in gas companies that have been entrusted with the obligation to provide public services, in related companies, as well as in other legal entities directly or indirectly affiliated with them in the part related to natural gas. It was agreed that regardless of the type of property and organizational and legal form, the audited persons will be obliged to freely allow the presence of state auditors on their territory and provide timely direct and free access to digitized information and databases necessary for the proper fulfillment of the audit mission. The audit report must be submitted by November 30, 2022. Earlier, the Deputy Chairman of the Commission on Economy, Budget and Finance, Radu Marian clarified that the corresponding external public audit in the field of natural gas differs from the debt audit agreed with Gazprom in the protocol of negotiations on the supply of natural gas, which will be carried out by an independent international company selected by the government of Moldova.// 24.12.2021 — InfoMarket.
