AmCham urges the Court of Accounts to conduct a compliance audit at the National Food Safety Agency
The American trade Chamber in Moldova sent a letter to the Accounts Chamber, in which it reported on the violations committed by National Food Safety Agency in ensuring the control of goods transported across the state border. The organization notes that, 3 years after the adoption of the relevant government decree, it was not possible to ensure the proper application of the Regulation on the procedure for crossing the state border with goods subject to control by the National Agency for Food Safety. In particular, the National Food Safety Agency does not apply a risk-based approach to food inspection at the border. Recall that this provision was developed to ensure the process of effective implementation of the single window principle, to increase the efficiency of the National Food Safety Agency control based on risk analysis, as well as in order to regulate and standardize operations to assess potential and specific risks at the border, especially with regard to the procedure for applying state control, optimizing the order crossing the state border by freight and passenger vehicles. // 02.09.2021 — InfoMarket
