Moldovan authorities to introduce 3 new permits to be issued by a new supervisory authority - the Railway Directorate.

This is provided for by amendments to the Law on Regulation of Entrepreneurial Activity by Permission and the Law on State Control of Entrepreneurial Activity, which were approved by the government. According to Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Andrei Spinu, the need to make changes is due to the fact that the draft of the new Railway Transport Code approved by the Cabinet of Ministers provides for the creation of the Railway Directorate, which will be obliged to issue permits, in particular: the railway permit, the certificate of security for railway enterprises and security authorization for the infrastructure administrator. Accordingly, the Railway Directorate will be entitled to exercise control for compliance with the conditions for issuance of permits. Thus, it became necessary to make appropriate amendments to the Law on Regulation of Entrepreneurial Activity by Permission and the Law on State Control of Entrepreneurial Activity. They stipulate that the railway permit, the safety certificate for railway enterprises and the safety permit for the infrastructure administrator will be issued by the Railway Directorate free of charge for a period of 5 years. This body will be responsible for the safety of railway transport, the quality of transport services, consumer protection in the field of railway transport, compliance of permits and certifications and compliance with the region, compliance with the safety and quality requirements of railway vehicles, elements of railway infrastructure, railway structures, mechanisms and technical equipment, compliance control of interoperability components with basic requirements. // 26.08.2021 - InfoMarket
