Japan will continue to support Moldova's agricultural sector
This was announced by Japanese Ambassador to Moldova Kazuyuki Takeuchi during a meeting with Moldovan Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Ludmila Catlabuga. The conversation focused on past and current efforts to strengthen the resilience of Moldova's agricultural sector, as well as future initiatives that will contribute to its sustainability. The Japanese Ambassador expressed his respect for Moldova, which has overcome the challenges posed by the regional situation, and praised the efforts of the Moldovan authorities to advance agricultural reforms on the path to EU integration. He emphasized that Japan will remain a reliable partner for Moldova's agricultural sector. Previously, Kazuyuki Takeuchi noted that Japan will continue to support the economic development of our country, emphasizing the interest of Japanese companies in investing in Moldova. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the volume of Moldovan exports to Japan in 2025, compared to 2024, decreased by 25.3% - to $3.4 million, while Japanese imports to Moldova increased by 16.5% - to $126.5 million.
