Moldova will implement the Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation System (AKIS) to facilitate farmers' access to information, modern solutions, and development support
This was discussed during a meeting held by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, in collaboration with the Agricultural and Rural Advisory Center, as part of the Sustainable Food Systems project. The meeting also included development partners Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova and the Embassy of Latvia in Moldova. Key topics of discussion included identifying current needs for the development and implementation of the Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation System (AKIS) in Moldova, analyzing institutional and operational challenges, and strengthening cooperation among relevant sector stakeholders. AKIS is conceived as an integrated ecosystem that facilitates collaboration between farmers, researchers, agricultural advisors, educational institutions, government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector. This mechanism aims to improve access to information, modern technologies, and innovative solutions, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of the agricultural sector. During the discussions, an applied framework was developed for identifying models of inter-institutional cooperation and defining strategic directions for action to develop a functional AKIS system adapted to the national context. //25.03.2026 – InfoMarket.
