About 750 women entrepreneurs working in the agricultural sector of Moldova received state aid amounting to 185 million lei in 2024
These figures were presented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry on the occasion of International Day of Rural Women, which is celebrated on October 15. The Ministry notes that more and more women in Moldova are becoming leaders in agriculture, managing farms, planning investments, and managing complex projects that contribute to the development of the rural economy. According to the Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA), in the last year alone, 746 women entrepreneurs received funding from the National Fund for Agriculture and Rural Development totaling more than 185 million lei. Most of the investments were made as part of additional measures - 631 women received funding of over 107 million lei. This is followed by post-investment measures with 85 beneficiaries and about 46 million lei, as well as advance payments, under which 30 women received about 31 million lei. This trend of active participation of women in agriculture continues in 2025: 96 women have gained access to 40.8 million lei through direct payments in the livestock sector, which contributes to strengthening a competitive industry with ever-increasing quality standards. The Ministry notes that women's participation brings stability and innovation to the rural environment: they form teams, strengthen communities, and set an example of responsible leadership in traditionally male-dominated areas. International Day of Rural Women was established by the UN in recognition of the important role women play in ensuring food security, reducing poverty, and promoting sustainable development in rural areas. // 15.10.2025 – InfoMarket.
