Association of agricultural producers and creation of functional cooperatives are the key to accessing EU markets, negotiating prices and strengthening long-term competitiveness – European Union

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, this was discussed during a meeting that the European Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Christophe Hansen held with members of the Association of Fruit Producers and Exporters Moldova Fruct, with whom he discussed the prospects for the development of Moldovan horticulture and the role of cooperation. The discussion focused on maintaining the pace of the EU accession process, compliance with European standards and the creation of strong associative structures that will ensure fair competition and equal opportunities for all farmers. During his visit to Stefan Voda district, together with representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, Christophe Hansen visited one of the horticultural farms. In the orchards, the European Commissioner observed the fruit harvest and discussed with entrepreneurs the characteristics of the varieties grown, after which he visited the cold storage where the fruit is stored. The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry reminded that it is preparing for a new important stage of the integration process: from 8 to 18 September, the Ministry's team will be in Brussels to conduct a bilateral screening on Chapter 11 "Agriculture and Rural Development" and Chapter 12 "Food Safety, Veterinary and Phytosanitary Policy". // 01.09.2025 — InfoMarket
