Applications are now open for the training and capacity building Programme for farmers and SMEs in the agri-food sector

The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the European Union have announced the launch of the 2nd cycle of the training and capacity building Programme for farmers and SMEs in the agri-food sector in Moldova. The first phase, which took place in May-August 2025, were trained 50 participants from 30 companies. The initiative aims to support business development through training and advice with a focus on food safety, animal welfare and environmental protection, offering producers the opportunity to improve product quality, improve processes and increase export potential to the EU market. The programme is targeted at farmers and processors of milk and meat, regardless of the stage of business development, with priority given to companies seeking to improve quality standards, enter new markets and develop business plans with expert support. Participants will receive theoretical and practical training, individual consultations, coaching and group trainings to exchange experiences, and the best companies will be able to take part in study visits to Europe and international fairs. The training course includes 11 modules (food safety culture and its assessment, food safety system management, labeling and packaging, traceability and product recall, pathogen self-monitoring programs, residue and contaminant monitoring, milk quality control, aspects of metrology and regulation in food safety assessment, etc.). You can register for the program until September 30. The training itself will take place in October-December. The initiative is being implemented within the framework of the project "Improving compliance with standards by increasing national residue monitoring capacity", which is funded by UNIDO and the EU in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry and the National Agency for Food Safety. // 28.08.2025 — InfoMarket.
