
Heavy rains and hail on July 27-28 caused serious damage to agricultural land in several districts of Moldova
According to the State Emergency Service, in the village of Curesnita Noua, Soroca district, hail damaged 15 hectares of orchards and 6 hectares of vegetable fields. In addition, the bad weather also caused damage in the village of Hristici, where hail damaged 32 hectares of orchards, 10 hectares of corn, and 10 hectares of sunflowers. In the village of Bulbocii Noi, adverse weather conditions damaged 31 hectares of sunflowers and 38 hectares of wheat, and in the village of Solcani, 16 hectares of wheat were damaged. The district emergency commission will assess the extent of the material damage. At the same time, on the evening of July 28, rain and wind knocked down trees in the Ungheni, Calarasi, Edinet, and Donduseni districts, where rescue workers and municipal services are working. In addition, heavy rains caused power outages in 21 settlements in the Taraclia, Briceni, Ocnita, and Ungheni districts, as well as in Gagauzia.
