Forage crop seed material produced in Moldova can be exported to EU countries – the National Agency for Food Safety

This was reported by the National Agency for Food Safety, informing about new export opportunities for producers of forage crop seed material in our country. As noted by the Agency, on June 12, the Council of the European Union decided to grant Moldova equivalence to EU requirements in terms of field inspections and standards for the production of forage crop seeds. In accordance with the decision, forage crop seed material produced in Moldova will be able to be officially certified by the competent national body (the National Agency for Food Safety) and exported to EU countries. The obtained equivalence confirms that domestic seed material provides the same guarantees for seed characteristics, their identification and control, as well as the rules for conducting field inspections, as those applied to seeds produced in the EU countries. As the National Agency for Food Safety emphasizes, this measure will allow our country's producers to diversify the variety of species grown for the production of seeds for export. At the same time, it will facilitate the supply of high-quality seeds of Moldovan origin to the European market. The decision taken will be published in the Official Journal of the European Union. // 12.06.2025 — InfoMarket
