A new Export Vision event will be held in Chisinau on January 30 to study the EU agriculture and food market
It is organized by the Investment Agency with the support of the World Bank and the Competitiveness Enhancement Project. Export Vision is a program dedicated to identifying opportunities and challenges in international markets. The goal of this program is to improve the skills and competitiveness of domestic companies and promote more efficient exports. Export Vision participants will explore export opportunities and learn about the challenges of the agricultural and food industry in the EU market. The event will include a presentation of EU market research with a focus on economic and trade trends, market requirements and key import rules (tariff and non-tariff). Participants will be able to take part in a panel discussion with local exporters who will share strategies for success, as well as participate in a networking session for direct interaction with potential partners and industry professionals. The Investment Agency noted that the European Union, with a GDP of €17 trillion, is the third largest economic power in the world and the world's largest single market with clear and transparent rules. With high purchasing power and a market of 450 million consumers, the EU is a huge source of business opportunities. Over the last 5 years, imports of agri-food products into the EU have increased significantly, which opens up new business opportunities in this area. For example, during this time there has been registered significant growth in the following categories: flour products (+13%), cereals (+12%), confectionery (+11%), beverages (+8%), fruits and nuts (+4%). These trends emphasize the growing demand of European consumers for agri-food products and Moldovan businessmen can take advantage of these growth opportunities. // 21.01.2025 - InfoMarket.
