In Moldova, the law on the extension of the licensing regime for import of grain and oilseed crops will be adopted by 31 December

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry reported this, noting that the measure of licensing of imports of grains and oilseeds will be extended and the relevant law will be approved until December 31 to ensure the continuity and stability of the domestic agricultural market under the current challenges. The Ministry of Agriculture regretted the spread of false assumptions in the public space, urging farmers to follow the messages of the agricultural department on official platforms. Earlier, members of the Forta Fermierilor Association (Farmers' Power Association) said that they may block all customs points with Ukraine if the Moldovan authorities do not urgently extend the licensing regime for imports of grain and oilseed crops from Ukraine, which will expire after December 31, 2024. Farmers believe that the authorities are in no hurry to adopt a law on the extension of the licensing regime for imports of grains and oilseeds, and, following the usual procedures, such a law may come into force only in late January or mid-February 2025. // 23.12.2024 - InfoMarket.
