Grains transported in transit through Moldova from Ukraine will be exempt from ANSA control
This is provided for by the draft law on the exemption of certain goods transported in transit through Moldova from the control of the National Food Safety Agency (ANSA), passed by the parliament in the second reading. The document proposes to establish that, in derogation from Article 19 of the Law on Plant Protection and Phytosanitary Quarantine, grains from Ukraine presented at checkpoints across the state border, at the entry points of Giurgiulesti-Reni and exit points of Giurgiulesti-Galati, as well as transported by rail, in respect of which placement under transit regime is requested are not subject to ANSA control. This deviation from the law is scheduled to remain in effect until September 14. Considering that this type of goods is transported in transit across our country on specialized vehicles, the risk of import by quarantine authorities is low. It is stipulated that in cases of damage to transport and cargo transiting the territory of the country with these goods, or if there is an emergency plan and there is a risk of releasing harmful organisms into the environment, the carrier must notify ANSA within 2 hours. // 12.07.2024 — InfoMarket
