AIPA received 30 requests for subsidies for kg of cow milk in just 4 days after the start of the competition for subsidies for cow milk, worth 28.66 million lei.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry announced this, recalling that the contest is open till April 15, 2024. Farmers have the possibility to receive direct payments of 3 lei per kg of milk delivered between July 1 and December 31, 2023. Applications can be submitted till April 15 to the territorial offices of the Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA). The conditions, eligibility criteria and the list of mandatory documents required for application are contained in the Direct Payments Regulations. Farmers can find the required documentation and further instructions on AIPA's official website under "Direct Payments to the Livestock Sector 2024". According to the National Bureau of Statistics, in 2023, relative to the previous year, cow milk production decreased by 3.4% to 261.3 thousand tons, while it increased by 15.1% to 43.3 thousand tons in agricultural enterprises and decreased by 6.4% to 218 thousand tons in households. // 07.03.2024 – InfoMarket
