This was reported by the National Bureau of Statistics, noting that it's about preliminary data on gross agricultural output in farms of all categories (agricultural enterprises, peasant farms and households) in 2023 at comparable prices. The NBS emphasized that, at the same time, in 2023, compared to the previous year, crop production increased by 35.1%, and livestock production decreased by 1.9%. In 2023, the share of crop products in the total volume of agricultural products was 75% (in 2022 - 69%), livestock - 25% (in 2022 - 31%). According to preliminary data from the NBS, in particular, the harvest of grain and leguminous crops in 2023 amounted to 3 million 196.4 thousand tons, an increase of 1.8 times (79.1%) in physical terms. Herewith, the gross wheat harvest was registered at 1 million 551.7 thousand tons and increased by 81.5%. The barley harvest increased by 82.8% to 242.6 thousand tons, corn increased by 77.7% to 1 million 336.9 thousand tons. The sunflower harvest in 2023 amounted to 752.6 thousand tons (+20% to the level of 2022), sugar beets - 405.8 thousand tons (-15.1%), soybeans - 38 thousand tons (+17.4%), rapeseed - 210.9 thousand tons (2.7 times increase), essential oil crops - 21.5 thousand tons (2 times increase), potatoes -171.7 thousand tons (-0.1%), vegetables - 281.1 thousand tons (+9.4%). Production of fruits, nuts and berries was registered at 754.1 thousand tons (+15.9%), grapes - 567.9 thousand tons (+6.9%). The NBS notes that in 2023 the average yield of grains and legumes was 33.4 c/ha (+59.8% compared to 2022), wheat – 41.3 c/ha (+60.1%), barley - 40.4 c/ha (+65.6%), corn – 28 c/ha (+60.9%), sunflower – 19.4 c/ha (+34.7%), sugar beet – 396.2 c/ha (-4%), soybeans – 15.4 c/ha (+10.8%), rapeseed – 25.5 c/ha (+12.8%), potatoes – 75 c/ha (- 2.3%), field crops – 67.9 c/ha (+6.1%), fruits, nuts and berries – 66.1 c/ha (+17.4%), grapes – 54.6 c/ha ha (+11.2%). According to official data, in 2023, agricultural enterprises produced the bulk of agricultural products (according to preliminary estimates - more than 61%), including essential oil crops - more than 99% of the total volume, sugar beets - 94.1%, rapeseed - 86.4%, sunflower - 68.3%, grains and legumes in general - 61.5% (of which: barley - 79.6%, wheat - 76.5%, grain legumes - 52.3%), soybeans – 56.3%. Meanwhile, it is estimated that 93.7% of the total volume of fruit crops, 93.1% of potatoes, 78.3% of vegetables, 68.2% of grapes, 61.8% - of fruits, nuts and berries, 59.4% of corn was produced by households and peasant farms. According to the NBS, last year the overall decline in gross livestock production by 1.9% was due to a general reduction in production volumes of all components: meat, milk, eggs. In particular, raising livestock and poultry in 2023, compared to 2022, decreased by 1.4% - to 168.2 thousand tons, while in agricultural enterprises the figure decreased by 0.5% - to 94.1 thousand tons, and in households - decreased by 2.5% - to 74.1 thousand tons. Cow's milk production decreased by 3.4% - to 261.3 thousand tons, while in agricultural enterprises it increased by 15.1% - to 43.3 thousand tons, and in households - decreased by 6.4% - to 218 thousand tons.
