Starting August 15, Rosselkhoznadzor banned the import of crop products from 31 districts of Moldova, ATU Gagauzia, Chisinau and Balti municipalities.
This was reported to journalists by Yuliya Melano, advisor to the head of this service. According to her, Rosselkhoznadzor was forced to impose restrictions due to repeated detection of dangerous quarantine objects in Moldovan products coming to Russia. "The Moldovan side has been informed about it many times before, but there has been no proper reaction. Measures taken by the Moldovan side to comply with international and Russian phytosanitary requirements for the supply of regulated products to the Russian Federation are insufficient," Melano said. According to her, restrictions apply to a number of districts of our country: Anenii Noi, Basarabeasca, Briceni, Cahul, Cantemir, Calarasi, Causeni, Cimislia, Criuleni, Donduseni, Drochia, Edinet, Falesti, Floresti, Glodeni, Hincesti, Ialoveni, Leova, Nisporeni, Ocnita, Orhei, Rezina, Riscani, Singerei, Soroca, Straseni, Soldanesti, Stefan-Voda, Taraclia, Telenesti and Ungheni. The ban also applies to ATU Gagauzia and the municipalities of Chisinau and Balti. Melano reminded that on March 5, Rosselkhoznadzor canceled all restrictions on the import of regulated products from Moldova to Russia. Previously, the delivery mechanism was regionalization of the territory of Moldova, which implied the delivery of products only from quarantine-cleared areas and certified enterprises. On August 15, Rosselkhoznadzor was forced to return to this format. Since early 2022 Moldova delivered to Russia 168 thousand tons of vegetal products, the largest amount came from apples, plums, grapes and cherries. Russia announced earlier that in 2021-2022 there were 93 cases of 11 kinds of quarantine objects in Moldovan fruits and vegetables imported to Russia. // 09.08.2022 – InfoMarket
