Moldova: Photovoltaic systems will be placed on agricultural lands without changing the purpose of these lands.
At the same time, it will be allowed to change the purpose of high-quality agricultural land for the construction of wind power stations. The government has issued a positive opinion on the relevant amendments to the Land Code. According to the head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry Viorel Gherciu, thanks to these changes, agricultural producers will be able to reduce production costs and maintenance costs, especially if there is a large consumption of electricity for production needs or product storage. However, the government believes that such installations can only be placed on degrading land or agricultural land with a natural fertility rating of less than 40. At the same time, photovoltaic installations will be allowed to be fixed to the ground using metal structures, and not using reinforced concrete or other materials that could adversely affect soil fertility. Farmers will also have to take measures to preserve and improve soil fertility. In the conclusion of the government, it is recommended to clarify in the draft law the conditions for the design, assemblage, installation and placement of solar photovoltaic systems and wind farms. // 15.12.2021 – InfoMarket
